Electrical Technician (Cranes)
Job Purpose:
To perform maintenance, testing and installation activities of various Cranes and RTGs in QTerminals to achieve effective functionality, reliability, and efficiency of these equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, HSE guidelines and standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Maintenance
- Pre-test and commission all electronic equipment to ensure that these equipment are properly functioning.
- Install all electronic equipment and machinery and ensure their proper functioning.
- Carry out daily electrical maintenance work and regular weekly/monthly preventive electrical maintenance work according to set schedule and QTerminals procedures in order to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
- Manage all electrical breakdowns and take effective corrective actions and ensure adherence to procedures and guidelines to reduce downtime and maximize functionality of equipment.
- Perform electrical repairs, overhauls, and schedules preventive maintenance work on all electrical equipment ensuring adherence to specifications, priorities and HSE Standards.
- Maintain logbook on maintenance tasks carried out in order to facilitate timely information availability and ready referencing.
- Interact with customers to ensure that all their requirements are effectively met and that efficient repair services is supplied at all times.
Minimum Qualification:
- Technical Diploma in the same discipline.
- At least 5 Years of experience in Port Operations.
- Knowledge of all relevant port equipment (i.e. STS/Quay Cranes and RTG Cranes).
- Knowledge of Siemens PLC and AC drives.
- Practical knowledge of electrical maintenance principles.
- Awareness of HSE and quality standards.
- Good understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environment.
